Mr. Patrick Askew serves as Executive Vice President, Capital Division for at New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC).
Early in his career Patrick worked at New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and completed notable projects, including the construction of the New York Mets minor league baseball stadium in Coney Island Brooklyn, and the National Lighthouse Museum in Staten Island. He then moved on to work with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) overseeing design and construction of the World Trade Center site. After working with the PANYNJ, Patrick worked with the Metropolitan Transit Authority and served as Deputy Director of the Independent Engineering Consulting Group where he helped oversee and monitor the MTA’s $32 billion capital program.
In April 2017, Patrick returned to NYCEDC and now leads NYCEDC’s Capital Division, managing a $6 billion project portfolio, including 90+ projects in design/construction, as well as 30+ engineers, architects, landscape architects, and other technical and administrative project support staff. In his current role Patrick also provides executive oversight for all capital design and construction work which includes large scale infrastructure projects, such as: construction of a water siphon between Staten Island and Brooklyn; design and construction of the iconic High‐Line Elevated Park, the design and construction of the East Midtown Greenway and the development of the proposed state of the art BQX Streetcar transportation system.
Patrick is a graduate of Temple University and New York University. He holds a Bachelors and Master in Civil Engineering, and also holds a Master in Business Administration.
